Dragon Painting with Pey Chi
Event description
In honour of the 2024 Chinese New Year animal, Artist Pey Chi will run you through how to paint a colourful and joyful dragon. Born to Malaysian-Chinese parents in the month of the lion and the year of the dog, Pey Chi is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work is inspired by all things kitsch ’n’ cute. Pey Chi hand-builds ceramic pots and mugs, hand-pokes tattoos, draws silly pictures, amongst other things. Her creative practice has been greatly influenced by her chronic illness Topical Steroid Withdrawal — motivating her to create work that brings herself joy, and others too.
