Drawing Fundamentals: An 8 Week Course

Illustrator Danny Stanley invites you to an 8-week course covering the building blocks of drawing.

Danny has been teaching art skills to people of all ages for almost a decade, alongside a successful career as a professional artist, where he has worked in different mediums including animation;

Illustration;

Painting; Storyboards;

Character design; Murals; and others, all requiring strong drawing skills (View his portfolio).

Danny will explain important aspects of art theory via in-depth tutorials with plenty of live demonstrations, then give students the opportunity to practice these skills in an creative way.

This course will cover:

* Perspective

* Form

* Light & shadow

* Sketching from life

* Drawing from imagination

* Pencil grip

* Composition

* Cartooning

* Analysis of masters' works; and more.

Danny has been teaching similar courses to artists in Tamworth since 2017.

Creative Kids: This course has been approved as a Creative Kids activity. To use your Creative Kids voucher, please send your voucher number and the participant's date of birth through to tamworthartacademy@gmail.com, and we will get back to you with the next steps.

Location: This course will be held in the Britten Room at the Tamworth Community Centre, at 3A Darling Street. The large room includes a kitchenette and access to a grassy courtyard.

Skill level: This class will be useful to artists of any amount of experience, from absolute beginners to advanced illustrators. Anybody with an open mind and a willingness to work can improve in their drawing skills, and even accomplished artists can benefit from a refresher on art theory and foundational exercises.
