Event description

Dave Atze is a children's Book Illustrator who has worked with Anh Do on "The Champ" book series and Scotty James on the new 'Mooki" book series.
Dave has illustrated over 30 books in the past 10 years and has also written his own book "Belly Button Fluff"

In this workshop Dave will talk about his career and process, Then the kids will learn how to break drawing/creative block with 10 fun creative drawing games.
Ending with free drawing time and Q and A session.

This workshop is for kids 7-12yrs old
Suitable for all skill levels

Kids get a take home "Breaking Drawing Block" sheet and get access to Free downloadable and printable:
Cartoons for beginners workbook, Mr Squiggle worksheets and Belly Button Fluff activity book.

This is the story of an ordinary boy…

when he was a kid everyone thought he was quite odd. Always drawing quirky things and talking in funny voices while he drew. Until one day he stumbled across a weird-looking pencil stuck in a sharpener. On the sharpener, it read: whomever pulleth this pencil from the sharpener shall be given special powers.

Well … with a grunt and a groan and maybe a little toot, the boy pulled the pencil from the sharpener. Boom, kablamo, blort! The magical pencil was his. He could feel its power surge through him. Now tasked with spreading the magic pencil’s awesomeness throughout the land, that little boy grew up to be … Dave Atze the illustrator.

Today, Dave illustrates amazing books for kids that sell all over the world including Anh Do’s The Champ, Scotty James' Mooki, Belly Button Fluff, Numbskull and Nincompoop, Cat Spies Mouse, Max Booth, Nursery Crimes and books about a kangaroo from Uluru!

Hi there! I'm Dave, a freelance Illustrator from South Australia.

I create all kinds of creatures and characters for cartoons, comics, toys, kid’s books, video games and advertising.

During my time as an Illustrator, I have worked for some amazing clients. Some of these include Anh Do, Scotty James, Scholastic, Allen and Unwin, Penguin Random House, Larrikin House, Ford St Publishing, Redgum Book Club, Big Sky Publishing, Moose Toys, Zuru Toys, EB Games and Silver Sun Pictures.

I love running drawing workshops for kids and helping them with their creativity.
