Shifting systems class

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Bicycle drivetrain systems are used to transmit power on bicycles, tricycles, quadracycles, unicycles, or other human-powered vehicles from the riders to the drive wheels. Most also include some type of a mechanism to convert speed and torque via gear ratios.

Join Yellow Bike Project professional bike educators for a detailed survey of the bicycle drivetrain. This all-day class will identify the anatomy of the bicycle drivetrain, including the names and functions of its components; the importance of component compatibility; and a guided hands-on installation and adjustment of shifters, derailleurs and their attendant control cables and housings. Subject bicycles will be provided, but attendees are also encouraged to bring and work on their own bikes.
