Drones in Schools: Professional Learning for teachers of Years 5-9
Event description
This hands-on, interactive professional learning workshop supports teachers from upper primary school to early high school to build their confidence in teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) concepts in their classrooms using Drones. The session is accredited by TQI for 2 hours of professional learning.
The workshop will provide practical advice on the management of drones in educational spaces and give teachers a hands-on introduction to the pedagogy enabled by this technology. A range of contextual classroom inquiries will be explored by attendees, adding flight experience to the outcomes of the session! Teachers will take away strategies for improving student thinking, reasoning, and justification within the STEM context.
All workshop equipment is available for borrowing by ACT public schools, promising increased engagement and deeper comprehension of STEM concepts for your students.
Who: ACT teachers of Years 5 to 9.

Where: UCSSC Lake Ginninderra College, 2 Emu Bank, Belconnen
Cost: Free for ACT Public School Teachers. Teachers from other ACT schools will be invoiced for $10 per attendee after the event.
