Birthing a Frame Drum is a sacred process which will take you on a journey of exploring your own creativity-The workshop will give you the opportunity to explore how do you birth in your life? This could be children, work, relationships, craft etc.
Create a beautiful 15" Frame Drum
At the end of the workshop you will have created a beautiful 15" frame drum and have explored aspects of your self which you may not have considered before.

Saturday 16th January 2021 2pm - Sunday 17th January 2021 4pm
This workshop will be held over 2 days in Katoomba, Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia
Saturday - Commencing at 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon 16th January 2021, we will spend the evening exploring our birth stories and cutting the skin and thread for your drum. Afternoon tea will be provided. Please bring something to share for the evening meal. The skins will soak overnight.
Sunday - Commencing at 9am and complete by 4pm (dependent on the length of the birthing process) with a closing circle. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided on Sunday 17th January. Please bring lunch to share.
Accommodation
You will need to arrange accommodation if you don't live in the Mountains. Some sleeping arrangements could be made at the venue for extra cost.
Fees
The fee of $450 includes:
- a handmade hoop,
- kangaroo hide,
- all tools and instructions needed to complete your drum
- teaching guidance for the 2 days.
If you wish to use a deer hide, there will be an additional cost- please contact Katherine if you require this, or want to discuss accommodation for the Saturday night.
If you only want to pay the deposit at the time of registration, please click on the "Invoice " option when you go to the payment page. An invoice will be sent to you at time of registration for the deposit. A deposit of $200 is required by 30th November 2020. This is to ensure timely purchase of a lovely handmade artisan 15" hoop as well as a kangaroo or deer hide. A further invoice will be sent for the balance of the workshop fee which is is due by 1st January 2021.
About the facilitator:
Katherine Cailleach Howard is an accredited Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Psychodramatist, and Teacher with the School of Shamanic Womancraft. She has 40 years of experience as a consultant occupational therapist, counsellor and group therapist. She specialises in counselling for women's life transitions and relationship counselling.
