Drumbeat - Melbourne Changemakers Gathering
Event description
Dear Melbourne Changemakers, Social Entrepreneurs and other Passionate People,
A few of your fellow travellers have decided to resume hosting regular in person gatherings where we can meet, discuss, and support each other. We call this the Drumbeat, because a regular rhythm of simple gatherings is one of the best and easiest ways to cultivate connection.
The details
We're going to gather at Edinburgh gardens for a few hours, with some snacks, music, and light facilitation. Here's what we're thinking:
- 1:00pm - 2:00pm: Mingles
- 2:00pm - 2:30pm: Circle up and check in
- 2:30pm - 3:30pm: Breakout discussions (optional)
- 3:30pm - 5:00pm: More mingling, chatting and playing
If we get enough interest, and the venue nfp-cost is covered, we will book the Emely Baker Community Centre (pictured above). If not, we'll just meet outside, weather permitting.
Bring your like minded friends! We're finding others and figuring it all out.
Why do we need tickets?
Booking a free ticket will make it easy for us to send you updates through Humanitix.
The “pay what you feel” option will help us pay for the venue, and maybe some snacks. If we don’t use the funds, we’ll refund them if requested, or hold onto them for next time.
Who's behind this
This particular session emerged out of a chat between Max Lynam and Hailey Cooperrider, after Max organised a changemaker drinks in Carlton North at the end of 2021. There are a few groups converging here. Max has been developing connections with a range of social enterprise, for-good and social impact networks in Melbourne and beyond, including Zebras Unite. Hailey has been a part of the Enspiral network, and has been working on how Enspiral might exist in Victoria. Max is providing some operational infrastructure through his not-for-profit Solutions for Humanity.
For now, we're not worrying about the details of what this is or who it belongs to! We're just going to gather, and see how we go.
