[Postponed] Melbourne Changemakers Gathering |Potluck Edition
Event description
[Postponed] until further notice ... it'll happen, we're just all suffering a little overload and burnout at the moment.
___
Dear Melbourne Changemakers, Social Entrepreneurs and other Passionate People,
A few of your fellow travellers have decided to resume hosting regular in person gatherings where we can meet, discuss, and support each other. We call this the Drumbeat, because a regular rhythm of simple gatherings is one of the best and easiest ways to cultivate connection. Like last time, we have booked the Emely Baker Community Centre (pictured above).
The details
Last time we were together, there was interest around the idea of a pot-luck ... a bit like the old hub days 😉
Here's what we're thinking:
- 12pm - 1pm Early arrivals for any necessary pre-potluck food prep*
- 1pm Official start with welcomes, introductions and snack sharing
- Breakout discussions/ Mingling / Playing
- 4 - 4:30 pm Check out and selecting the next hosts
* 🧑🍳 Some people expressed interest in cooking together, if this sounds like you, you are welcome to arrive at 12pm and take advantage of the kitchen!
🍪 Others might prefer to bring something that requires less preparation and are welcome to arrive at 1pm for the official start time and sharing of snacks and camaraderie.
🤔 If you are interested in seeing what others are bringing or planing your dish around dietary needs you are welcome to update this spreadsheet with info about your dish and dietary needs.
Why do we need tickets?
Booking a free ticket will make it easy for us to send you updates through Humanitix.
The “pay what you feel” option will help us pay for the venue, and maybe some snacks. If we don’t use the funds, we’ll refund them if requested, or hold onto them for next time.
Who's behind this
This particular session emerged out of a chat between Max Lynam and Hailey Cooperrider, after Max organised a changemaker drinks in Carlton North at the end of 2021. There are a few groups converging here. Max has been developing connections with a range of social enterprise, for-good and social impact networks in Melbourne and beyond, including Zebras Unite. Hailey has been a part of the Enspiral network, and has been working on how Enspiral might exist in Victoria. Max is providing some operational infrastructure through his not-for-profit Solutions for Humanity. For now, we're not worrying about the details of what this is or who it belongs to! We're just going to gather, and see how we go.
Your Hosts
This time around Tariq and Alli are hosting, so feel free to reach out to us with any ideas or questions via Humanitix! See y'all soon!
