Inverloch 2026 Event - Disabled Surfers Association

Let's celebrate 10 Years of going Surfing and Making Someone's Summer!

Come along to catch some waves and be involved with the Bass Coast branch of the Disabled Surfers Association at INVERLOCH for a free and fun-filled day!

This year is EXTRA special! 2026 marks the 10 Year Anniversary of our Bass Coast branch starting in Inverloch in 2016.
We love being apart of a community that continues to aim to put "smiles on dials" with the help of our volunteers to provide a safe and enjoyable surfing experience for people with any disability - and we want everyone to be involved!

We recommend all those wanting to join us to PRE-REGISTER for an easy check in on the day!
If you are a Surfer Participant and will have a Carer/Guardian with you, please organise these in the same booking for ease of check in experience.

ON THE DAY RUNDOWN:

9:00am - Volunteer registration opens
10:00am - Surfer registration opens
10:30am - Water volunteer briefing
11:00am - First surf
2:00pm - Event ends and pack up
Hang and chill out after for all those keen! Everyone is welcome!

SURFER PARTICIPANTS INFO:

• No experience necessary

• Surfer Registration opens from 10:00am (pre-register before arrival please)

• First surfer session in the water at 11:00am. Surfers finished by 2:00pm.

• Wetsuits available to borrow (limited sizes) if you don't have your own

• Change area with hoists/beds and disabled toilet facilities available

• Beach access via beach matting, noting we do have limited beach wheelchairs accessible

• A Carer/Guardian must be present with you

CARER/GUARDIAN INFO:

• At least one carer is required per surfer (100% responsible for their surfer outside of their surf time)

• Pre-registration required at the same time of processing the Surfer/Participant

• If you are a Carer/Guardian of a group of Surfers, please include all details of the Surfers who will be with you on the day within the 1 booking.

VOLUNTEERS INFO:

• No experience necessary

• Check-in and registration opens at 9:00am (pre-register before arrival please!)

• Water & land based roles available (you can choose when you pre-register)

• Wetsuits available to borrow (limited sizes) if you don't have your own

• Land role and photographer briefings will be provided via email prior to the event, with a quick run down on the day!

• Water role briefings starting from 10am (Red Shirt volunteers 10am, Blue Shirt water volunteers, 10:30am).

• Upon registering, you'll be asked if you have a Working With Children Check(WWCC).
  If you are a volunteer that wears a RED, GREEN or PINK vest/shirt, it is MANDATORY that you provide a valid WWCC either prior to or on the day of the event.
  If you don't have a WWCC, we recommend easily signing up for a Volunteer card online via: https://service.vic.gov.au/ser... It only takes about 15mins and is FREE!

• First surfer session in the water at 11:00am. Surfers finished by 2:00pm.

OTHER NOTES/INFO:

• Bring your own sunscreen, towel, water bottle, hat, swimsuit and/or wetsuit if you have one!

• If you're planning to hang out on the beach, please bring your own shade tent/umbrella.

• Beach wheelchairs available (limited)

• Beach access via wheelchair matting

• Sunscreen will be available if you forget!

• Free sausage sizzle and fresh fruit provided, but feel free to bring your own snacks too! (GF and VEG options available!)

• Water available for refills

If you are unwell at the time of event, please stay home for the safety of all attending this event.

If you are unable to make the event after registering, please cancel your ticket. If you have any issues, please email us to arrange.
