DSO Territory Tour | Tennant Creek
Event description
Join us in Tennant Creek for a special performance alongside award-winning singer, songwriter and storyteller Shellie Morris and a choir of children from Tennant Creek. Presenting beautiful new songs written in Warumungu language with Warumungu custodians Rosemary Plummer, Marlene Plummer, and Miriam Frank, we share important stories for children from learning about local animals to looking after country.
As well this special collaboration,  we are proud to present ‘Gurrulwa Guligi (Big Wind)’ by Bilawara Lee and Netanela Mizrahi, a reflection on Cyclone Tracy 50 years after it devastated Darwin and changed the Territory forever.
The program will also feature a suite of orchestral favourites, from the beauty of Brahms and Prokofiev, to sweeping film soundtracks by John Williams and Howard Shore.
Presented in association with Barkly Regional Arts
