DST July Tips and Tipples
Event description
Join us at Hobart Airport for an exclusive industry event as we go behind the scenes for an update on scheduled runway works and terminal upgrades. Learn what this investment means for the Tasmanian tourism industry and the opportunities for operators to leverage from direct flights into Asian markets.
We will hear from Norris Carter, CEO of Hobart Airport regarding the process and timeframe for runway strengthening works that will enable fully laden Code E aircraft to use the runway on a regular timetabled basis. A report prepared by KPMG for Hobart Airport revealed the runway upgrade will facilitate an additional annual $122 million in economic activity derived from tourism, trade, and Antarctic activities, as well as an additional 1,261 jobs.
In addition, Hobart Airport has commenced works to double the terminal footprint to 23,000 square metres providing more space and an improved passenger experience.
We are excited to have Acting Tourism Tasmania CEO Vanessa Pinto, join us to share some insights into Tasmania's key international markets and highlight the agency's activity in the international space.
