The Return of DUB CLUB Melbourne

Established in 2007, DCM introduced ‘soundsystem culture’ to a new audience, by promoting events where a purpose built sound and its crew would be the headliners. The cultural significance of soundsystems being crucial to the evolution of many music genres played by DJs, had remained un-established and largely bypassed in Australia. DCM’s vision was to present more traditional concepts, with a focus on reggae and dub music played through its traditional medium as the missing foundational element. Working in close association with Heartical Hi-Powa, their flagship events aptly named Basement Sessions ran monthly until 2015 and provided inspiration for newer emerging crews to build up their own equipment sets.

After a 10 year hiatus, where now an adoption of the culture across Australia has been observed, DCM has remained reserved, but the people have asked and now we’re back with a one away warehouse rave, featuring once gain Melbourne’s original purveyors -Heartical Hi-Powa, with a full crew line up of selectors and MCs on the full sound in full effect:
