Duck Creek Film Society warmly invites you and your friends to a film evening to see the wonderfully uplifting film 'Tinā'. It has become one of the biggest hits in NZ cinema and has received rave reviews across the world.
Samoan mother Mareta, grieving her daughter's death, becomes a teacher at an elite school in NZ. There she finds that the students lack care and guidance. She starts a school choir and offers inspiration and support. Be transported by the soaring Samoan and traditional hymns. The movie is about forgiveness, love, trauma and Samoan culture.
Gates open at 6.00 pm. Enjoy live music by The Breezy Brothers, and light food in the courtyard. Light supper, cakes, and non alcoholic hot and cold beverages are for sale. The food and beverages are a fundraiser for Alstonville Public School by the school parents body.
At 7.00 pm the film starts. The evening finishes at 9.30 p.m (includes intermission).
