Dumplings Against Depression: Uniting Cultures for Mental Wellbeing
Event description
Presented by the Victorian Multicultural Commission in partnership with Solis and funded by the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing, please join us for Dumplings Against Depression: Uniting Cultures for Mental Wellbeing.
At this community gathering, we will come together to share a delicious meal and have open, inclusive conversations about mental health and wellbeing over something we all love–dumplings.
You’ll hear from panels of multicultural mental health experts and community voices, as we explore:
what mental health and wellbeing means across different cultures
how to access support services
how we can care for ourselves and each other during tough times
You'll be able to browse stalls, meet local service providers, and discover culturally safe and community-based mental health supports.
Dumplings Against Depression will end with three concurrent sessions where you can either join:
a roundtable to discuss how to create a capable, diverse and intersectional mental wellbeing workforce
an interactive dance session
a tour of Joy, an exhibition at the Immigration Museum exploring the power and meaning of joy.
You will be asked to select which session you'd like to attend when you register. Dress code is smart casual.
You can view resources including a social story explaining the event and how to attend here.
