Dunsborough and Surrounds: Emergency Preparedness Week - Inclusive Emergency Planning Sessions (Community Sector Organisations - Dunsborough)
Event description
Community sector organisations and service providers are invited to a planning session so that we can all work together to ensure nobody is left behind.
The Department of Communities (Communities) is partnering with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and Red Cross to empower people who are at greater risk in emergencies to prepare for and respond to disasters as part of the Dunsborough & Surrounds Emergency Preparedness Week.
Disaster preparedness requires a tailored approach that acknowledges the needs, strengths and risks relating to the individual circumstances of a person. Communities, working with DFES and Australian Red Cross, has engaged Clare Gibellini, a lived experience advocate for people with disability, to share her knowledge at two workshops.
A 90-minute workshop will be hosted for community service providers on Tuesday 31 October from 1pm at the Naturalise Community Centre.
