Calling ALL Epic Students & Staff,

Come join us as Epic Charter School students and staff head to HANDS of HOPE Food and Resource Center in Durant on Tuesday, January 14th for a time of giving back to our community. Volunteers like you are essential to carrying out the mission. Hands of Hope is a non-profit organization whose main vision is to FIGHT HUNGER-FEED HOPE. This service opportunity will allow us to help this program with various needs including sorting & packing produce and canned food, bagging groceries, and helping clients to their cars.

This Community Outreach Project is for Epic Charter School students 12+ years of age through 12th grade. Due to limited space, this opportunity will be for students, staff & limited space for parents.

What to Wear and Bring:
* Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes that may get dirty
* A refillable water bottle

ITINERARY: Volunteers need to enter the facility through the volunteer door off the 8th Street entrance. Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic Family Engagement staff member who will be in Epic gear. We’d also love to see you in your Epic gear! We will begin with a short tour followed by sorting, packing, bagging, etc.

Morning Volunteers:

9:45am-10:00am Volunteer Check-In
10:00am-12:00pm Volunteer Time
12:00 Conclusion

POLICIES: You will register using Humanitix which will hold your spot for the community service as a reservation. Parents, please register your Epic students who will be participating. This enables the school and the location to staff and plan appropriately. Our community service opportunities do have a maximum capacity. Therefore, we ask that when registering your students, you only register Epic enrolled students so that the spots are filled by our students.

Service Animals: Families, please contact the event location directly to confirm whether service dogs are allowed.

MEDIA: This is a public event and photographs and or video may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student to not have a photograph or video taken, please let our Epic Family Engagement staff know during check-in.

CANCELLATIONS: As a reminder, if you sign up to come but are unable to make it, please cancel your reservation using your Humanitix confirmation email. This will open up spots for other families.

Inclement Weather: If we have inclement weather, we will send out communication by email through Humanitix or the email used at registration to notify if the field trip has been canceled.
