Description

This FREE 2 hour introductory workshop provides participants with general knowledge of family and domestic violence (FDV). Participants will gain skills to identify signs of FDV, risk factors, appropriately respond to clients, and refer them to specialist services so that they receive essential support in a timely manner.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Define FDV and coercive control, prevalence and incidence
  2. Outline the impacts on victim-survivors and groups more vulnerable to FDV
  3. Identify clients who may be experiencing FDV
  4. Respond appropriately to clients impacted by FDV and refer them to specialist FDV support

The workshops is for frontline, community service staff, professionals, or those new to FDV work with little or no background in FDV.
