Description

This FREE three-hour workshop explores family and domestic violence (FDV) and the experiences of children and young people. Participants will gain knowledge of child-centred practice and how to embed it in their own practice. Children and young people's safety and support needs are discussed, along with recommendations for good practice for service providers. Relevant resources and support options for children and young people will also be provided.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Recognise children and young people’s experiences of family and domestic violence and coercive control, and recognise their resilience

  2. Demonstrate ways that practitioners can put child-centred practice into action

  3. Articulate strategies that enhance safety and support for children and young people experiencing FDV

  4. Embed good practice strategies within their service that recognise children and young people as victim-survivors in their own right and prioritise safety and well-being.

The workshop is for anyone working directly with children and young people impacted by FDV.
