DVCS: Safe & Together 4 Day Core Training
Description
Safe & Together’s four-day Core Training is designed to give practitioners a skills-oriented foundation for domestic abuse–informed practice. This training provides key skills and learnings for participants to implement the Safe & Together Model into their practice. Each day of training provides experiential classroom training focused on the following foundational practice areas: Assessment, Interviewing & Engagement, Documentation, and Case Planning & Interventions. Core Training explores the importance of:
Identifying the impact of domestic violence on children and family functioning
Gathering a fact-based assessment of the perpetrators’ behavior patterns
Partnering with survivors of domestic violence
Intervening with perpetrators
Understanding how domestic violence intersects with other issues like substance abuse and mental health
Training is appropriate for professionals working across family violence, child and family sectors.
Training dates and times:
Tuesday 20th October: 9:30am - 4:30pm
Wednesday 21st October: 9:30am - 4:30pm
Tuesday 27th October: 9:30am - 4:30pm
Wednesday 28th October: 9:30am - 4:30pm
– Please note – Participants are required to attend all 4 days of the training.
