Event description

Planning for the future may feel daunting, but taking the right steps now can bring peace of mind to you and your loved ones.

This event is part of Dying Matters Week, a national initiative supporting people across Aotearoa to start important conversations in a safe space, learn from local experts, and seek support in getting affairs in order or navigating grief and loss.

Join us for an informative session where experts will guide you through the essential aspects of legal and financial planning:

  • Madline Patterson and Annabelle Alloo, solicitors from Mactodd Lawyers, will demystify estate planning, explaining why having a will is crucial, how to set up an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA), and what’s involved in applying for probate.

  • Nilam Dayal, Advice Centre Manager at ASB Queenstown Tāhuna, will share practical tips on safeguarding your finances, including how to ensure your accounts remain accessible and protected during life’s transitions.

The discussion will be moderated by Marie Wales, General Manager of Queenstown Hospice, who brings compassionate insight into planning for life’s later stages.

Come along to learn how to take control of your future and make these important processes simple and stress-free.
