Movie Night in Support of Dying to Know Day
Join the Barwon Health Palliative Care Team for a DYING TO KNOW DAY free movie night. This event is open to everyone and aims to normalise conversations about death, dying and grief, encouraging individuals to learn about, discuss, and plan for their own end-of-life, and to support others in doing the same
There will be information and resources available related to legacy planning, advance care planning, and conversations about end-of-life care.
This event is proudly supported by Western Victorian Primary Health Network and Barwon South West Region Palliative Care Consortium.
About the movie:
The 2019 film Our Friend is based on the profoundly moving, true story of journalist Matthew Teague, his wife Nicole, and their devoted best friend, Dane Faucheux. After Nicole was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Dane put his own life on hold and moved in with the family to help care for her and their two young daughters, offering vital support during their darkest time

There will be an opportunity to join a trade table discussion from 8:00–8:30 pm, where participants can share experiences and discuss Advance Care Planning (ACP), wills, legacy planning, and other initiatives that encourage meaningful conversations about death, dying and end-of-life care.
