DYKE BAR – Game Drive: A Wild Cat Safari - PRIDEFEST 2026 - Connections & Pride WA
Description
Pull on your waders, darlings. The wetlands are wet, the
mud holes are deep, and nobody here is staying dry. Boots
up! The Land Rover is idling, the engine is purring (so are we),
and the guide has one rule: hands inside the vehicle at all
times (the wildlife bite!).
Our resident DJ will keep the beat going until the herd is
panting. Expect heat and humidity across the plains.
Splashing Through – Wade into the wetland, where the
water’s warm, the ground slippery, and you might stumble
across a wild cat fight. Towels optional.
Spy the Pride of Lionesses – Watch them advance, pounce,
and slink away with their prey in a burlesque so smooth you’ll
forget how to blink. Tips are welcome. Tassels are mandatory.
The Mud Holes – Deep, dirty and surprisingly popular.
Experienced explorers know there’s no shame in diving
in. Enjoy responsibly, but shower before the afterparty.
Unicorn Sightings – Rare, magical and very glittery. You
might be lucky enough to spot one! Don’t feed or chase.
Do compliment the horn.
The Lesser-Spotted Bisexual – Elusive, exquisite, and
wanted across the savannah. Sightings are frequent,
but she’ll never say which watering hole she prefers.
Stay patient and keep your binoculars steady.
Vultures – Circling the dance floor, waiting for someone’s
night to die before swooping in with “so... are you two
together?” Know your predators!
Who’s welcome: All FLINTA* (women, lesbians, intersex,
non-binary, trans and agender people), plus anyone who
respects the pride.
Rules of the reserve: Consent is ALWAYS sexy. Respect the
wildlife. Yes should be enthusiastic; no only needs saying
once. If you’re not sure, don’t pounce.
