Event description
This is an online 90 minute interactive course. Support workers will gain the skills to identify swallowing difficulties in the people they support and safely manage these following a mealtime support plan. Information presented is consistent with the training required to meet the NDIS Mealtime Management and Severe Dysphagia Management quality standard.
Content will cover:
- Normal swallowing.
- Signs of swallowing difficulties
- Support strategies to manage swallowing difficulties
- Texture modification.
- Escalation of care
Participants will be able to ask questions. The course will be available in recorded form for 2 weeks post presentation.
