FAQs

• How many people per a family can attend?

  Year 6 student plus up to 2 of their special adults.

  To ensure we can host an inclusive event where every year 6 student can celebrate with their loved ones, tickets are strictly limited to a maximum of 2 adult guests per student. Because we are balancing venue capacity, strict safety and insurance regulations, and rising event costs, we are unable to accommodate extra guest requests. We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep this milestone celebration safe, affordable, and equitable for every single family in our Year 6 cohort.

  If any families do not use their allocation of 2 adult tickets, those places may become available closer to the event and we will communicate at that time.

• Can siblings attend?

  No, we kindly request that younger or older siblings sit this event out. Due to our venue capacity, but more importantly, this evening is designed as a dedicated celebration for our Year 6 graduates. In the busyness of everyday family life, this event offers a rare, meaningful opportunity for your Year 6 student to enjoy undivided quality time to celebrate their achievements alongside their special adults. Thank you for your support in making this milestone night uniquely theirs.

• Do parents/carers have to attend, or can I just drop my child off?

  This is a family celebration event, and students must be accompanied and supervised by at least one supervising adult guest during the entire event. It is not a drop-and-go event, as venue duty-of-care requirements rely on parental supervision.

• What do I do if i have dietary requirements?

  You will see a prompt asking for your dietary requirements either during the registration/checkout steps or immediately after completing your payment.

  If there is any issues and you are concerned it is not registered please email earnshawgraduation@gmail.com to detail the dietary requirement.

• Why is event being held at the MPAC?

  Please note that the Year 6 Farewell Celebration has been relocated to the MPAC, ensuring the evening is highly accessible and affordable for all our families.

  Selecting the perfect location for our Year 6 Celebration involved balancing multiple priorities. The venue was intentionally selected to ensure maximum accessibility, safety, and fairness for every single family. Key considerations included:

  • Geographical Location: Situated centrally within our local area to minimise travel times for busy families, including volunteers who are setting up, packing up and bumping in vendors.

  • Transport & Parking: Easily reachable with ample parking options and nearby public transport links.

  • Full Accessibility: Equipped with step-free entry and facilities that accommodate every guest comfortably.

  • Affordability: Keeping final ticket prices down so that financial constraints do not prevent any student from attending.

  Most importantly, we want to remind families that a venue alone does not create a magical evening—the event's inclusions do. By relocating to the MPAC, we significantly lowered fixed hire and catering costs. This allowed us to reallocate our budget directly into special inclusions for the children.

  This event has been organised as a sub committee of the P and C, with the core vision and mission at the center. The state peak body P&Cs Qld operates under a central mission and vision centered on student success and community support.

• Public Transport and Parking

  🚆 Travelling by Train - Shorncliffe Line. The school sits right on a major northern train corridor, making rail travel a highly reliable option to avoid weekend traffic.

  • Primary Station Banyo Station: Located roughly an 8-minute walk from the school gate.

  • Saturday Frequency: Inbound and outbound trains on the Translink Shorncliffe Line typically run every 20 minutes on Saturdays.

  • Recommended Arrival: Aim for a train arriving at Banyo between 5:10 pm and 5:20 pm to give your group ample walking time to find your seats before the 6:00 pm start.

  🚌 Travelling by Bus - Several local bus routes drop off directly outside or within brief walking distance of the school campus.

  • Closest Bus Stop: Tufnell Rd at Earnshaw Road, Stop 27 sits right at the school junction.

  • Key Route Services:

    • Route 306 (Nudgee)

    • Route 307 (Toombul Interchange)

  • Saturday Schedule Note: Local bus frequencies decrease significantly on Saturday late afternoons. It is strongly advised to check the live Translink Journey Planner or use the Translink App the day prior to ensure your connecting bus aligns with the 5:30 pm arrival.   🚗 Travelling by Car & Parking For families choosing to drive

  • Event Parking: On-site parking is available via the main school gates off.

  • PLEASE NOTE SEVERAL PARKING BAYS WILL BE RESEVERED FOR USE OF VENDORS.

  • Earnshaw road any overflow parking sreet parking is available along Earnshaw Road and surrounding local streets. Be sure to check local council signs for any weekend time-restricted parking zones

• Event Duration

  Doors open at 5:30 pm for a strict 6:00 pm start. Please ensure you arrive during this window, as the official proceedings will commence promptly at 6:00 pm. A formal program outline will be made available on the night.

  The evening will kick off with an exciting formal presentation featuring; inspirational guest speakers, a commemorative video presentation celebrating our Year 6 cohort and a live musical performance by Earnshaw’s very own talented guest band, Bloom.

  Following the formal presentations, food will be available, and the DJ will hit the decks to open up the dance floor. The music and festivities will run until our strict venue conclusion of 9:00 pm.
