Join us for a vibrant celebration of Earth Day at the EcoDistrict Extravaganza! From 10 AM to 2 PM, immerse yourself in a series of exciting activities designed to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.

Highlights of the Event:

  • Guided Tours of the Ryan Resilience Lab: Explore the innovative solutions and research dedicated to preserving the Elizabeth River and its surrounding ecosystems. Tours leave at 11am and 1pm.
  • Volunteer Conservation Landscaping: Join EcoGardens to care for the shoreline buffer planting along Knitting Mill Creek at the Ryan Resilience Lab from 9:30am-11am. Learn more and sign up HERE.
  • Litter Cleanup along Colley Avenue: From 10am-12:30pm, make a difference in your community by participating in our litter cleanup effort. All necessary equipment will be provided.
  • River Star Home Sign-Ups: Take a step toward becoming a champion for environmental stewardship by signing up to be a River Star Home. Plus, take home a free garden flag as a symbol of your commitment!
  • Community Science Opportunities: Learn about oyster gardening with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Otter Spotters, and how to test water quality as part of Chesapeake Water Watch.
  • Kids Activities: Meet some river critters and learn about your home river.
  • Learn about River Star Businesses: Discover how local businesses are adopting sustainable practices and contributing to the health of the Elizabeth River.
  • EcoDistrict Information: Gain insights into the EcoDistrict and learn how you can be part of this movement towards a greener, more resilient community located in the Highland Park Neighborhood that we are so lucky to be a part of.
