Event description

It’s never been more critical to come together to protect our world than at this moment. As the 2022 theme for Earth Hour is #shapeourfuture, this event is youth focussed. Hosted earlier in the day and wrapping up on sunset, it will allow the even the youngest members of our community to get involved.

Head, Heart and Hands (HHH), along with MakerSpace at the Mid North Coast Community College (MNCCC), are hosting an evening of family fun on Saturday 26 March 2022, 4-7pm.

The afternoon-early evening event will include information stalls around themes of food and land resilience and emergency preparedness , music, the opportunity for people to learn about and participate in making solar lights to address energy poverty, and more to be announced.  Enjoy a plant based sausage sizzle and have your face painted before we switch the lights out a little earlier than the rest of the globe, and still make it home by a reasonable hour.

Fun family activities include

- Virtual reality nature immersion

- Building a solar light

- Making a terrarium ecosystem

- Origami seedling planters and other upcycling ideas for the garden

- Face painting

- SES and RFS kids activities

- Live music

- Colouring in / drawing competition

Please note that some filming will be occurring on the day, as this is event is grant funded.  The video will be used on the AdaptNSW website.  If you do not wish for yourself or your children to be filmed, please advise a volunteer staff member on the day, who will notify the videographer.
