Event description

Directed by Kerrie Polkinghorne, Vocalize Choir presents a program of 13 choral works focused on the elements and environment.  Complemented by film, piano and strings, audiences will be drawn into the timeless resonance of nature through poetic text and voices in harmony.

By Night, a poem by Harriet Prescott Spofford in 1897, has been newly composed as a choral piece by Elaine Hagenberg and will be an Australian premiere performance.

Trees, a poem by Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918) is set beautifully to music by Daniel Brinsmead, an Australian choir master, composer, arranger and orchestrator based in Canberra, Australia.

The Seal Lullaby was written by Rudyard Kipling and composed by Eric Whitacre and has been enjoyed by many choirs, wind ensembles and orchestras for the past decade.

Join us for an evening celebrating the earth we share.
