Earthquake Stories Walk
Event description
Join Our Stories Project for a guided audio walk of the central city, where you’ll hear stories from people who were in the city on 22 February 2011, when the 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck.
There are more than 30 voices featured - you'll hear from people who were trapped in the Forsyth Barr building, rescuing passengers from the Bus Interchange and polishing glassware in Ballantynes department store.
These powerful first-hand stories have been sourced from the CEISMIC digital archive held by the University of Canterbury.
You’ll be provided with headsets to hear these first-hand stories as we walk through the places where they happened.
