EarthSong - Voice Activation Workshop at Botanical Bazaar Garden Festival

Hey everyone, 

It is a delight to be offering a guided journey through sound and song at this years Botanical Bazaar Garden Festival. I would love you to join me for a fun and energising yet supportive, choose your own adventure style exploration of voice for all levels of experience. My own journey in music has been one of growth and courage, and i can empathise that the idea of singing outside the comfort of the car.. or the shower.. or the bedroom.. can be a little intimidating. My vision is that the space is one of inclusivity and that the guided immersive experience will activate and empower others to feel more comfortable using their voice whether in speech or song, knowing that the voice is such a power tool for expressing, being heard and creating our reality in the world. Over the past 3-4 years i have enjoyed creating these experiences with a diversity of incredible, brave and willing humans. Every workshop is unique unto itself! The following gives a bit more of an idea of what is shaping up for the EarthSong experience at Botanical Bazaar:

"Gathering in circle, we take some collective breaths to drop in together and acknowledge the custodians and ancestors, spirits of the land. We begin with some gentle movement and sounding, incorporating the use of chakra toning sounds to connect us with our bodies. We further activate our voices through simple vocal warm ups, sound play, and call and response. Together we will explore song and sound through guided voice play (improvisation), body percussion, simple mantras and earth songs. We sing to connect with the joy inside ourselves and our hearts and move around a central earth altar to sing simple earth inspired song to deepen our connection with mother earth - with awareness of our natural surroundings as the gateway. Community connection through song and movement, where everyone is invited to co-create a beautiful soundscape, at times accompanied by a simple drum beat or guitar rhythm for a fun, interactive yet grounding experience."

Where: Botanical Bazaar Garden Festival @ Nerang Country Paradise Parklands

When: Sunday 6th August

Time: 10:30-11:30am (please arrive at 10:20 for a 10:30 start)

Workshop location: Under the big tree on the flat at EDIBLESCAPES (look for signs to EdibleScapes, which is on the hill on the northern side of the festival)

Tickets: *$15 (+bf) via humanitix / $25 cash on the day (IF NOT SOLD OUT). 

* PLEASE NOTE: the workshop fee does not cover entry to the festival. These tickets are also incredible value at $15 per day (online) + can be purchased at botanicalbazaargc.com.au

What to bring (all optional):

Cushion / mat / towel to sit on

Water

Shaker / percussive instrument

Warm jumper / blanket if its cold on the day
