We live in such a diverse area, but do you know about our rural west?

To Port Stephens' east there’s precious beaches and scenic headlands we fought to protect. But what do we know about our western hinterland? Its countryside, activities and history? A very different landscape that locals in the west are passionate about and are fighting to retain.

Join us to explore and appreciate Port Stephens west

The history of the Paterson, Hunter and Williams rivers, the unique historic village of Woodville, the iconic bridges, its rural vistas and natural landscapes, its environmental and planning challenges, and so much more.

Full day guided bus tour

– includes short walks, views

– simple morning tea beside the wetlands (a wet weather alternative, please BYO mug)

– lunch in the historic Hinton pub (at participant’s cost) or BYO picnic in the park

– a wealth of interesting stories, sites and local expertise.

$36 / person, payable on registration (plus your credit/debit card fee)

Registrants will receive a more detailed itinerary with each focus area prior to the tour. Throughout the tour you are welcome to wear a mask.

9.30am	Seaham Park Wetlands short walk and MORNING TEA (BYO mug)
	Seaham, Woodville/Wallalong, Brandy Hill —stories of development, water flow and koala environmental plantings
	Shepherds Ground Farm and Village features co-operative development, Wednesday only
	Woodville historic landmarks, Largs to Hinton
1 pm	LUNCH at Hinton's historic Victoria Hotel — a diverse menu at own cost or UPDATE: only BYO picnic lunch places remain to enjoy on the banks of the Paterson River opposite the hotel
	Historic Wallalong (stories and views).
	Seaham via electricity battery site and adjacent solar farm.
	Kings Hill potential development and koala conservation area.
4.15pm	Raymond Terrace
5pm	Salamander Central

** SATURDAY 5 August: Booked bistro lunch places at Hinton's historic Victoria Hotel are now full. There are limited tickets available for BYO picnic lunch to enjoy under shelter in the park opposite.

Each participant must register separately. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience. We will ask you for your contact details, emergency contacts, preferred bus pick up option, photo permission, lunch preferences and how you heard about this event.

Payment

You will be asked to pay by secure credit or debit card. Should that not be possible for you, then please contact sueolsson@econetworkps.org

Please note that of the $36, Humanitix cost is only $1.40 which is directed to funding education projects for the world's most disadvantaged children to help close the global education gap. This cost is absorbed into your ticket cost.

Any booking fee through your card will be added to the $36 fee.

Please also note that once booked, a refund of 90% of the ticketed price is automatically available up to 7 days prior to the event. After that time refund will depend whether there is an impact on the cost to run the tour if your cancellation means the minimum required to run the tour is not reached. Most likely you will be 90% refunded.

Refunding is within 2 days of the final tour.
