Led by Bosnian-born composer and double bassist Goran Gajić, East of West brings together the musical traditions of the Balkans and Mediterranean with elements of jazz, improvisation and contemporary composition. The trio features Philip Griffin on oud and laouto, and Malindi Morris on percussion.

Their music draws on centuries-old rhythms and traditions, creating a vibrant and evocative soundscape that moves effortlessly between composed passages, open solos and improvisation.

With extensive experience performing across Australia, Europe and beyond, these three exceptional musicians bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the stage. Expect an evening of hypnotic percussion, beautiful string melodies and adventurous musical interplay.
