Easter Egg Hunt & Family Picnic Day 2022 - 10th Anniversary!

It’s that time of year again, so hop to it and bring your family along to the simply ear-resistible RHH Research Foundation Easter Egg Hunt and Family Picnic Day at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. This year we’re bringing more of that chocolatey goodness to brighten your Good Friday on April 15th! Strap yourself in for some Easter hot cross puns, cos we've got so many it’s not even bunny.
Hop til you drop.
This year kids up to fourteen years of age will be given a set of clues that will lead them on an egg hunt throughout the Botanical Gardens. Once the kids have solved their gardens quest, they will be led to a secret location to receive an egg-stra special bag filled with plenty of chocolate Easter eggs!
Don’t worry, be hoppy.
There will be separates hunts for children aged 3-5, 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14 years old. Each hunt should take around 30 minutes to complete in total, so you’ll be getting plenty of eggs-ercise too!
Eggs-cuse me, I’m just here for the chocolate.
The fun will begin from 10.00am and will continue until the final clue sheets are handed out at 1.30pm. Simply make sure that you meet us at Egg Hunt HQ (within a hop of the visitor's centre) any time before 1.30pm and conclude your hunting by 2.00pm to partake in all the fun. You DON'T have to arrive at any particular time.

As always, we will have entertainment for the kids plus Covid-safe activities planned in our Easter picnic village. We’ll even have a special appearance from our egg-ceptional guest of honour - The Easter Bunny!
We love a hoppy ending.
Bring along a picnic and join us for the afternoon. There'll be an egg-stra coffee cart and face painting. Succulent, the Botanical Gardens Café will be open and Musical Theatre Crew will be keeping us hopping throughout the day! Optus are bringing along engaging activities for the bigger kids. It’s truly a day of fun for the whole family!

Don't worry parents, we haven't forgotten about you. Each Adult ticket goes into the running to win one of two eggs-traordinary door prizes, drawn at 12:30pm and 1:30pm (winner will also be announced on our Facebook page).
