Eastside Neighbourhood Walks: Phillipstown

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join Phillipstown Community Hub and Te Pūtahi to explore our neighbourhood of Phillipstown. This first guided Eastside neighbourhood walk centres on Ferry Road, and is an opportunity to learn about the history of this area, share your own stories, and dream about its future. Our walk starts at Edmonds Gardens, and finishes at Phillipstown Community Hub with free coffee and great kōrero; after sharing stories about the best dairy in town, discussing the changing form of neighbourhoods like Charleston, and learning how Phillipstown got its name!

This event is part of the Eastside Neighbourhood Walks Series, delivered by Te Pūtahi alongside local community groups, and funded by Christchurch City Council. Eastside Neighbourhood Walks is a series of free, resident-led guided walks within Phillipstown and Linwood that celebrate local histories and the knowledge residents hold. Come along to learn and share stories, and connect with your neighbours and community organisations. These events are perfect for the young, the old, those who have lived here for years, and our newest neighbours as well.

Raindate: Sunday 23 May 2pm

Please return your ticket and do not attend if you have COVID-19 symptoms or if you need to be in isolation for any reason.

The walk is free and booking is required.
