    Event description

Whether you want to provide affordable, nutrient-rich food for your family or you are worried about the Zombie Apocalypse, gardens are a wonderful way to provide care and resilience to your family and community.

As food prices seem to increase every month, there's something particularly satisfying about walking out into the garden and picking a cauliflower that is cheaper, fresher, and more nutritious than anything available from a store.

We’ll teach you the basics of how ecosystems function and plants grow.  By learning to work with nature (instead of endlessly fighting against it!), you can get your garden going without a lot of effort. learn to fit your gardening into a busy schedule and begin providing nutritious food for your family in just a few hours a week.

This a half-day workshop is designed for beginner gardeners:

    • Learn about how ecosystems function
    • Learn about what plants need to thrive
    • Learn the easiest way to compost
    • Share our recommendations on the best garden tools & books
    • See successes and failures as we walk and talk around the vege garden and food forest
    • Lots of time to ask questions
    • Resources handout for additional learning

BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL as we have a limited capacity of 12 participants.

We want this workshop to be accessible to all. If the cost is a bit steep, give us a shout.
