Event description

Easy sew scarf to jacket upcycling

When: Sunday 25 May – 2pm-4pm
Where: Jika Jika at the Courthouse, 59a Roseberry Avenue Preston
$15 booking fee

Level: Beginner machine-sewing skills

Use your basic sewing skills to turn a barely-worn scarf into a layering piece you’ll wear all year round.

If you can thread, start and stop a sewing machine, you can make this versatile throw-on.

Our facilitator, Kerin Bryant, will take you through the easy-to-remember process, first demonstrating then guiding you as you create your own.

Bring along your own scarf (short edge needs to be a minimum of 60cm) or choose from a selection of op-shopped scarves available to purchase (op-shop prices!) at the workshop.

If you’ve ever:

  • Wanted something light to cover your arms and shoulders (and bra straps)
  • Loved the fabric of a scarf but not really worn it.

then come along and learn how to make the first of many (they’re addictive) scarf-jackets!

Facilitator, Kerin Bryant, of Remaki, hosts workshops and sells hand-made upcycled fashion and homewares with the goal of inspiring people to make the most of the resources at hand. https://www.instagram.com/remakistudio/
