ECCQ invites you to our members meeting, in partnership with Logan City Council this will be held at the Kingston Butter Factory.

In recognition of Queensland Mental Health Week our guest speaker is Ivan Frkovic the Queensland Mental Health Commissioner.

We regret to announce that due to illness our members meeting has been postponed.

The new date for the ECCQ members Meeting is Wednesday 9 November, 2022.

All registrations to attend will be valid for the new date. As there is limited space, if you are unable to attend, please email advocacy@eccq.com.au so we can offer the space to others.

Meet our Panelists

Although the event has been postposed, we are excited to announce the panelists:

Rhee Duthie Born in Aotearoa – New Zealand to Maori and Swiss German parents, Rhee has a culturally holistic approach to Mental Wellbeing inspired by her lived experience with family her culturally ecological framework and her ongoing Trauma informed work in Queensland, such as headspace, Queensland Primary Health Networks, Australian Red Cross, Mental Health First Aid, End of Life Last Aid and Cultural healing.

Lawm Cangmah As a refugee from Myanmar, Lawm arrived in Australia in 2008. He completed his Bachelor of Human Services & Bachelor of Criminology & Criminal Justice from Griffith University in 2017. Lawm is a long serving community leader within the Chin Community, served as Secretary of the Matu Community of QLD from 2011 – 2016, President from 2016 – 2021, and currently serves as Director of the Chin Community Council of QLD.

Kennedy Shuli As a refugee originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kennedy left his home country when he was only aged 12 leaving both his parents behind. Kennedy has a strong passion toward improving services for vulnerable population and has led a one of its kind community-led mental health research project which sought to understand community’s accessibility barriers to MHAOD services. Kennedy completed a Bachelor of Public Health at QUT and is currently completing a Master of International Law at Griffith. Kennedy is also a founding members and spokesperson of Bafuliru Youth Association of Qld.
