ECE Connect - On the road in Merrylands
Event description
Join the department for this free event with your peers from across the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector. This session provides you with the opportunity to learn more about the latest reforms affecting your work, ask questions and talk to our staff.
The session will run twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Both times will contain the same content, you only need to register for one.
There is also an opportunity to register for the networking lunch at 12:30pm, in-between the morning and afternoon sessions.
Department of Education staff will speak to you about: Â
- 100 preschools
- the Digital Hub
- Start Strong
- assessment and rating
There will also be an opportunity for you to ask the department questions and share your views at roundtable discussions with topics on:Â
- assessment and rating
- local support available
- transition to school
- system stewardship
- 100 preschools
- workforce
What you can expect to discuss for the roundtable topics:
- Supporting assessment and rating: Join representatives from the NSW Regulatory Authority to discuss strategies you use to support your team and your service to feel prepared for assessment and rating. The table discussion will focus on discussing the resources you use and how you engage your team in regular conversations about quality, self-assessment and continuous improvement. There will be opportunity to learn about strategies other services are using and ask questions about the NSW Regulatory Authority’s Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement Planning Portal.
- Localised support:Â find out what local support is available to you.
- Transitioning children from ECEC to school:Â Join us and share your experiences with the Transition to School Digital Statement and help inform future enhancements. Tell us about support that you would find helpful as you complete the Digital Statement for sharing with parents and schools.
- System Stewardship: Insight gathering on challenges and barriers to ECEC service establishment, effective operations, and growth.
The Childcare and Economic Opportunity Fund (the Fund) is a key enabler to deliver new early childhood education initiatives that directly support those who need it most – children, families and the workforce. This roundtable is focussed on understanding challenges and barriers that ECEC services face to establish, operate effectively, and expand. We want to better understand these challenges and barriers, and identify opportunities that may be explored as solutions under the Fund. - 100 preschools: discuss the next steps in the 100 preschools program and how the department can work with ECEC services in the delivery of the 100 preschools.
- Workforce: share your experiences working in the ECEC sector.
