Eco Health Session // Purple Copper Butterfly Night at BRAG

During Season One: Terrestrial, hear from Allan Wray, Senior Land Services Officer, about local iconic threatened species, the Purple Copper Butterfly.Â
The Purple Copper Butterfly (Paralucia spinifera), also known as the Bathurst Copper Butterfly, is a threatened species unique to the Central Tablelands region and one of Australia's rarest butterfly species, only found between Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon. This butterfly species has an interesting life cycle and a very special symbiotic relationship with a specific native plant and a small black ant.Â
