NATURE: The Call for a Reconciliation, feature documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Australian Premiere, an EcoCentre fundraiser
Event description
You are invited to the Australian Premiere of NATURE: The Call for a Reconciliation – A fundraiser for the Port Phillip EcoCentre
Join us for the Australian Premiere of NATURE: The Call for a Reconciliation - a stunning feature documentary film by acclaimed filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand (Home, Human). This exclusive cinema screening will take place at the iconic Astor Theatre and is a fundraiser for the Port Phillip EcoCentre — supporting our environmental programs that connect people of all ages with nature and empower them to take meaningful action on climate and biodiversity.
For over 25 years, the EcoCentre has inspired, educated and mobilised our community to care for land, water, wildlife and each other. From preschoolers planting pollinator gardens to teenagers leading climate campaigns, families discovering citizen science to older adults restoring habitat — we work with people across generations to build a safer, more sustainable future.
Now, we’re at the start of a new chapter. This winter, we’ll move into a world-class new EcoCentre building in the St Kilda Botanical Gardens. With state-of-the-art facilities and space to grow, we’ll be better equipped than ever to meet the needs of a community that’s increasingly looking for connection, knowledge and action. But this opportunity also brings urgency: demand is outpacing our capacity, and we need your help to turn this potential into impact.
NATURE is a powerful film for this moment. Through stunning visuals and intimate storytelling, Arthus-Bertrand explores the values that underpin ecological and human resilience: cooperation, adaptability, and respect for life’s natural rhythms. These are values we live by at the EcoCentre and we’re honoured he has chosen us to screen this film for the first time in Australia.
As Arthus-Bertrand shares, he is “very pleased that our film is being screened in Australia, particularly in support of the Port Phillip EcoCentre, a wonderful organisation whose work I applaud.”
100% of ticket proceeds will go directly to the EcoCentre.
By attending this event, you’ll not only experience a deeply moving film — you’ll help the EcoCentre expand our reach, offering more workshops, activities and excursions that reconnect people with nature, build community resilience, and inspire long-term environmental leadership.
Whether you’re a lifelong advocate, a concerned parent, a curious student or simply someone who loves this planet — you are warmly invited to be part of this inspiring evening.
