Event description

ECOSYSTEM THRIVING" is a night celebrating DIY grit and hustle. It's dedicated to artists who've taken the hard road, and chosen to forge paths of their own. It is a brief peek into the rich undergrowth of our local musical environments. Look closely and you might find something strange, something unique, something new ... only just hidden in the muck.

ECOSYSTEM THRIVING launches for the first time as part of Dulwich Hill's Relit Festival on Friday May 23, curated by Dharug favourite BAYANG (tha Bushranger). Featuring some of his favourite artists across Eora, Naarm, Ngunnawal and more, ECOSYSTEM THRIVING traverses the DIY landscape in various directions to find a commonality in the rich undergrowth of underground so-called Australian music.

ECOSYSTEM THRIVING's hand-picked lineup is a testament to this - from a headlining set of BAYANG's hard-hitting mongrel raps to Katie Dey's pitch-shifted, beatific indie pop, from Alice Skye's open-hearted revelations to Sevy's booty-shaking, crystalline textures and Samatar's sparse, angular cuts to Elina's high BPM edits. The lineup exists as a celebration of the lack of genre and restriction within local musical environments and the work put in by people for this feeling.
