Find Creative Friends ~ Express Your Authentic Voice ~ Discover Belonging in Nature

Spend this summer with creative people, express your authentic voice and find a place of belonging. Join us this summer for an immersive ecotheatre experience, reconnecting with nature, each other and ourselves.

This is more than a summer camp. It's an opportunity to step away from screens, pressure and expectations, and spend 10 unforgettable days in a welcoming, stunningly beautiful place where you can have fun, be inspired and feel fully yourself.

Create Together ~ Master Skills ~ Perform Together ~ Grow Your Confidence Organically

Everyone will have a role, from devising as an ensemble to directing, from script writing to music making. Together you will experience nature quests, physical theatre, improvisation and the process of devising a new piece of theatre. It is not necessary to have any stage experience, but if you do, you will deepen your knowledge and skillsets.

By the end of the camp you’ll have gained confidence, made real friends and created something extraordinary together. You’ll be invited to perform your original production in the local community, allowing your creativity, depth and authenticity to shine!

More Than a Summer Camp ~ a Creative Rite of Passage

Our Summer Camps are known to be a pivotal and defining moment for the 14–17 year olds who join us. For many, it is the first time in their lives meeting others with the same interests, a chance to ‘find their tribe’.

Instead of grabbing at mobile phones for connection, our summer campers are given the opportunity to connect deeply with each other. They will meet teenagers from different nations of the world and work together to become a strong, safe community of open-minded and open-hearted humans.

They will also spend time connecting with plant and animal life that they might not come across back home. We provide the space and expertise in ways of connecting with nature by getting them outside into the great wild outdoors of Northern Scotland. This part of the program offers them a fresh perspective on the vitality of our living environment and humanity’s place within it.

EcoTheatre Summercamp ~ Space to Discover Yourself

Our somatic movement, breathing and meditation exercises will give them tools going forward to remain embodied, present and focused in their lives. It becomes increasingly vital for today’s young people to learn these skills. Sucked into the wormholes of internet over-usage, information over-stimulation and society-wide sedentary lifestyles, many teenagers are entering adulthood disconnected, discombobulated and disembodied.

Our summer camp is also designed to plug teenagers into their own unique, creative inner-voice. By encouraging them to journal, to act, to write theatre, to move and to perform, our workshops and activities will provide them with 10 days of artistic self-expression.

Set the Scene for Life's Next Adventure

At an age where every move matters, there are few experiences that build confidence as much as making and performing theatre publicly.

For those whose first language isn’t English, this is a prime chance to practice with native speakers, and to try public-speaking in the UK.

For many, art and creativity are first to go when it comes to ‘the crunch’ in life. We inspire an ethos in our teenagers that as they grow older, not only can they always tap into their creative side, but that it will in fact benefit their mental health and professional life if they do so - no matter what type of field they dedicate their life to.

On the cusp of further education, and entering the daunting arena of professional work, Summer Camp can be the extra feather in their cap enabling them to strive further and with more confidence.

Our campers return home with a passion for the environment and a dedication to step out of their comfort zone in everything they do.

The Beauty of Findhorn Bay ~ the Comfort of a 4-Star Hostel

Summer Camp participants will be housed in the cosy Findhorn Village Hostel. The hostel itself has a prestigious four stars from the Scottish Tourism Board.

It is a sturdy stone building converted from a former village school. It has separate male and female rooms with bunk beds. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen available in the hostel, as well as Wi-Fi which is accessible for when the teenagers need to update their parents or guardians.

Findhorn Village, where the hostel is located, is a quaint former fishing village and one of the most desired places in Scotland for holidaymakers. Immediately outside the hostel is the iconic Findhorn Bay, from which sailing boats, kayakers and wind-surfers enter the nearby North Sea. Seals can be heard singing and are regularly seen up close on the beach.

The sky around Findhorn Bay feels more massive than most places. By design, no buildings there exceed two stories, and the village is on a relatively flat peninsula. It makes Findhorn Bay a dazzling place for sunsets and sunrises. At nighttime, because of the lack of light pollution, stars and Aurora Borealis are in their full vigour.

Findhorn and Moray in general is one of the most sheltered, dry and sunny parts of Scotland because of its geographical situation. This translates into bright and sunny days throughout the summer camp season.

In short, you will love it here.

As if there wasn’t enough to make this location sparkle, Findhorn Village is also walking distance to one of the first and largest Ecovillages on the planet. Findhorn Ecovillage also happens to be the single largest intentional community in the UK.

Renowned for ecological building, renewable energies, organic food and ecological water systems, Findhorn Ecovillage has been ahead of the curve for decades.

With buildings of all sorts of shapes and colours (beehive, whisky barrel, and Hobbit-like houses), a walk through Findhorn Ecovillage really feels like a trip to Wonderland.

Many artists live here and have visited over the years. It is a place ripe for inspiration. There are regular theatre, music, dance and meditation events to ignite the spirit.

Summer Camp will include activities in this magical place, with workshop leaders of varying disciplines who have travelled from around the world to call this cutting-edge place their home.

Fresh, Organic, Local Food ~ Nourish Your Body, Mind & Imagination

The food that will be provided over the 10 days will be vegetarian, and mostly fresh organic. We can also cater to any gluten-free and allergy requirements. Please let us know at least 48 hours before arrival. Thank you.

Our varied, balanced, healthy, vegetarian meals will include homemade soup, locally baked bread, and fresh vegetables and fruit that are largely sourced from farms in the surrounding area.

10 Days ~ A Lifetime of Memories ~ Create ~ Perform ~ Feel Fully Alive

This is not just a summer camp.

It is a space to step out of noise, step into creativity, step into belonging, and return home more fully yourself.
