Ecotone: "Fire" with Dr Ryan Tangney, Rabbit Island & Hannah Smillie
Event description
Ecotone is a new event series inviting all those curious, local community, artists, and scientists to listen and share in conversation and discussion about nature, science, music, and creativity - exploring where they intersect, overlap, and embed each other in mutual approaches and practices.
Come along to an evening of learning, musical performance, and common-ground-finding with the first event in the series, ‘Fire’, featuring fire ecologist Dr Ryan Tangney and musicians Rabbit Island and Hannah Smillie.
All welcome in an easygoing, informal, atmosphere open to asking questions, listening, sharing, connecting, and inspiring.
The event will run for a little over an hour. Please endeavour to arrive a little before the conversation and performance will start from 7:30pm.
Accessibility information: There will be chairs, beanbags, and floor seating with pillows facing the speakers. Musical performance will be relatively low volume through a small PA or acoustic, with basic room lighting. The Buffalo Club downstairs area is wheelchair accessible.
This event is taking place on Whadjuk Noongar boodjar. Rockton Records believes that our culture and communities will only progress and are made stronger by first acknowledging, listening to, and sharing in the oldest culture and stories of this Country and its custodians and Elders, and it extends this respect to all First Nations people.
