Event description

MeWe Fairs presents Ecstatic Dance & Yoga Nidra: Dream to Heal with Val Brown.

The event is open to the public - all are welcome.

The first part consists of ecstatic dance, a freeform movement meditation in which individuals allow their body to move them, rather than the other way around. The musical journey parallels a 5 Rhythms wave, evoking fluidity and surrender, truth and clarity, freedom from illusion and limitations of the mind, soulfully creative, and wisdom.

Following this, participants are guided into a restorative yoga posture and led through a powerful meditation technique known as yoga nidra - or “conscious sleep.” This thousands year old practice allows participants to heighten their inner knowing and awareness, while simultaneously dropping attachments to the physical and mental realms.

Most people leave the practice feeling a deep internal shift, a higher level of consciousness and connectedness within themselves, and to the community at large.

Val Brown helps people recover from trauma and chronic conditions. She believes that people heal with, for and because of one another. With this framework, she had created Dance for Change, a safe space for individuals to move through their own healing journey within the community. These events are designed to also share financial resources with organizations centered around social justice, equality and environmentalism.
