Join us for an electrifying evening of music, movement, and pure liberation through Ecstatic Dance! This in-person event will take place at Portchester Community Centre on Fri 26th April 2024 at 19:00 GMT and will include a guided meditation and a short breathwork journey. (Invitational).

Get ready to unleash your inner dancer and experience the power of free expression. You will experience an eclectic mix of beats, ranging from soulful melodies to tribal, spiritual/conscious, well-known hits and high-energy rhythms, ensuring a diverse and captivating musical journey.

Ecstatic dance encourages you to release any judgment & expectation and have an open mind to the power it offers. It supports us in getting out of our comfort zone, and moving into growth and connection. Feel the freedom to move however your body desires, embracing the rhythm and letting it guide your every step. This is a space where you can truly let go if you wish, connect with your authentic self, dance shyly or dance your heart out.

You will be invited to join a short meditation with breathing exercises before we get into the dancing, enabling us to feel safe in our bodies, grounded and present.

Optional extras to bring:

Water bottle.
Feel free to bring along a drum, shaker , tambourine etc, if you have one.
We will be sat on a wood flooring for a short time for the meditation so please feel free to bring a blanket/ yoga mat. There are also chairs available to sit on.

Ecstatic Dance is a great alternative for those who love to dance but don't want the drunken party scene. It is encouraged to go barefoot but if you prefer supportive footwear, no problem! Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, whether that's activewear or something that expresses your authentic self.
