    Chicks from Corea is an upcoming, dynamic ensemble that is pushing the boundaries of the jazz genre with their innovative, modern approach. Comprising accomplished musicians from Burnside High School’s Specialist Music Programme (SMP), the band’s members infuse their jazz roots with modern contemporary influences like hip hop and neo soul to create a sound that is both familiar and new, leaving audiences of all ages wanting more. Since their creation in 2020, Chicks From Corea has had the privilege of winning several competitions, including The National Youth Jazz Competition, Jazz Quest and Southern Jam, which have helped them to establish themselves as a reputable and sought-after band. They specialize in writing and performing their own original music, and have been recognized for their talents by winning composition awards in national and regional competitions such as Jazz Band-It and Y-Factor. Chicks From Coreas’ live performances are high-energy and engaging, making them a must-see act for jazz enthusiasts and music lovers alike. With Dylan Blundell on drums, newcomer to the group Ciaran Kingi-Booth on bass, Jacob Mullen on guitar, Monet Schutte on vocals/sax and William Kao on keys/trombone this will be a line up you don't really want to miss.

    Come on up to Fat Eddie's for Ed's Jazz Club, every Thursday night. Reserved Seating will get you your own table on the main floor (best seats in the house) or grab a spot anywhere else with a General Admission ticket. Fat Eddie's have a delicious menu and of course their ultra special drinks menu, so take Thursday night off and come into town to enjoy some of the best jazz Christchurch has to offer.
