Introducing Chicks from Corea!
An award-winning 5 piece Jazz/funk combo based in Christchurch.“Chicks from Corea” consider themselves to be a modern jazz band, dedicated to honouring the music, but making each piece their own.They play a range of well known early & modern jazz hits, and have just started collaborating on their own material, which they are hoping to release later this year.Members have picked up top individual awards in music competitions such as Jazz Quest and Southern Jam, with “Chicks from Corea” being awarded “2021 Best Combo” at the latter.Formed in 2020, they have already gained a mass of experience performing throughout NZ, on live TV, and at many local venues around Christchurch city.All members are currently part of the Specialist Music Programme at Burnside High School and are technically and creatively trained at the highest level.

Come on up to Fat Eddie's for Ed's Jazz Club, every Thursday night. Reserved Seating will get you your own table on the main floor (best seats in the house) or grab a spot anywhere else with a General Admission ticket. Fat Eddie's have a delicious menu and of course their ultra special drinks menu, so take Thursday night off and come into town to enjoy some of the best jazz Christchurch has to offer.
