EDGE 10:10 2024

Event description

Pastoral Care in the local church

As Pastors, one of the things we are most passionate about is making sure that the people in our congregations feel cared for.

Yet today, knowing how to care for everyone in our church including those who are on the fringes of the congregation can sometimes be difficult.

At EDGE 10:10 a leadership development day for BUV pastors, we will be considering questions like…

  • What is the definition and scope of pastoral care?
  • How can I ensure the church I pastor is a caring church?
  • How can I, a pastor, best care for God’s people?
  • How can I train other people who are willing to pastorally care for others?
  • What processes do I need to have in place to deal with a tragedy in our congregation?
  • What resources and support is available to our church?

Join, Rev Jonathan Stark (Head of Pastoral Leadership Support & Development), Rev Dr Bill Brown (Pastoral Coach) and Pst Heather Dunning (Associate Pastor for Pastor Care at Diamond Valley Baptist Church) as they facilitate an environment where learning, discussion and the sharing of ideas around pastoral care can take place.

Come and sharpen your axe! Ecclesiastes 10:10 says “If the axe is dull more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.” This day will help you gain more skills and help you minister with less effort in the area of pastoral care!
