EDGE | FILL | KEY : Laszlo Lukacs @ no.10 : 6pm, 13 November 2026
Description
Curated by Ron Nyisztor, EDGE | FILL | KEY is the first exhibition in a new series celebrating significant Western Australian artistic careers.
The series reflects the Gallery's ongoing commitment to recognising and championing Western Australia's rich and diverse cultural heritage.
Spanning more than five decades, László Lukács' practice has evolved across countries, cultures and circumstances, shaped in part by his experiences as a refugee and immigrant. His work draws together a distinctive visual language that sits between the Baltic States and Mexico City, reflecting an unwavering artistic vision and lifelong dedication to painting.
EDGE | FILL | KEY brings together works from across Lukács' career, from early paintings produced within Fremantle's vibrant artistic community at the CenterPoint Fowlers Vacola building on Pakenham Street, to more recent works created while living in Central London and South Wales.
The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to revisit Lukács' remarkable contribution to Western Australian art and to consider the enduring significance of a practice that has remained both deeply personal and internationally informed for more than fifty years.
