     The Foragers Plate  Presents

Edible flower magic with Chanterelle Foggin

Learn from Chanterelle how to best capture, cook and create with edible flowers.

Edible flowers are especially close to my heart. Creating and cooking with flowers has a magical quality to it; the sunshine added by a dandelion flower. The sparkle of purple hues lavender and cornflowers leave. The petals of a fushcia  bloom decorating a cake or  Lilly pilly flower wild soda.

Flowers have always been a symbol of joy and pleasure.  I simply adore growing or foraging for flowers to use in my wild food cookery and to create a bit of magic in my kitchen and at the table. The appeal of flowers speaks to the child inside of us.  This workshop is perfect for mother daughter outing/a mothers  day gift experience or a chance to play and bond with a child in your life or the child inside of you.  Edible flowers bring a lot to the table so to speak, we will touch on how flowers can heal, the fragrant pharmacy and nutritional qualities. Adding flowers to your diet its an awesome way to eat rainbow and start to value the marginal as adding value nutritionally as well as delighting our eyes. We eat with our eyes after all.

The day will look at natives, to wild flowers to the best plants to grow your own edible flowers at home. A two hour hands on imersive workshop. Where you will take home goodies to use straight away in your own kitchen.

You are invited to join Chanterelle at her beautiful country home in the village of Cobaki (13 mins from Coolangatta airport). We will gather for a small morning tea featuring some floral delights created by Chanterelle for you. Chanterelle will share her secrets on how to use fresh flowers for maximum effect to wow your guests and the techniques involved to capture and preserve flowers and buds from pressing to drying to pickling.  a seasonal guide to which flowers and what species and how to ID common flowers for use. a small forage in and around the weedy garden, where we walk and talk about capturing native flower magic and wild edibles and where they grow. Followed by a hands on finish to the workshop where you will create two take home items with Chanterelle

    - your own jar of your unique blend of foraged flower tissane  - choose from an array of wild foraged and dried flowers to create a bush flower tea

    - Fairy salt or fairy sugar - to decorate and sprinkle at home with your loved ones

This will be a magical day.
