Event description
In this hands-on, four-day immersion workshop, students will design and create a custom chocolate set with personalized packaging using digital tools and fabrication processes.
Participants will model unique chocolate forms in TinkerCAD, 3D print them, and make food-safe silicone molds. They will then design custom packaging and bring it to life with laser cutting. The final day focuses on finishing, assembling, and presenting a professional chocolate set ready to gift or take home.

About the Instructor:
Alison Wood is an interdisciplinary designer working at the intersection of art and design. She returned to KCAI, where she previously taught in Foundation, and consults as an industrial designer for Rock Cottage Glassworks. A KCAI Sculpture alumni, she has trained at Pilchuck Glass School and apprenticed in glassblowing with Dierk Van Keppel for nearly 12 years. Influenced by Kansas City’s Zahner studio, Alison earned her Master’s of Interior Architecture, Furniture, and Product Design from Kansas State University. Her graduate work included study at DIS Copenhagen, research conference work in Valencia Spain, and design work for contract furniture company OFS. Beyond the studio, she consults on product and interior design and has interests in sustainable materials, digital fabrication, and circular design.
Supplies: The instructor will contact registered students directly regarding materials and supplies.
Parking: Parking is available in any of the (NON-RESERVED) KCAI parking lot spaces across campus. There is also available street parking surrounding KCAI campus.
